Saviru Halpagoda

Saviru has Down Syndrome. He comes to art  after school where he can sing, paint and share his passions with other young artists. Having a familiar group to share the space with every week allows him to feel understood by others and is a chance for him to learn skills in cooperation and friendship. Saviru is able to take what he has learned in art home with him which is a productive and enjoyable way for him to fill his spare time. With a keen interest in people, his portraits often feature stars of the  football world and various other famous icons. His unique brush stroke results in work that looks animated and lively. Saviru is very focused  during art and is always smiling.
