Shanise Aumua

Shanise has autism, intellectual disability and selective hearing. She enjoys coming to art classes and has grown by working alongside others and learning to have confidence in her abilities. She is a proficient artist. With support from tutors and friends she is encouraged to challenge herself, as a result discovering joy and often surprise in what she can achieve with full independence. 

She loves jewellery, cartoon characters and outings with her friends and family which is reflected in her work. Whilst exploring different themes pastel continues to be her favourite medium of choice, resulting in bold and vibrant interpretations.
