About Us

A child and an adult are working on an art project at a table. The child is painting a large poster depicting a bridge and water scene with trees. The table has watercolor paints, brushes, and printed reference images, with newspapers laid out underneath.

Art for All is a creative community for artists with intellectual disabilities, offering inclusive art classes, quality materials, exhibition opportunities, and a welcoming space to connect with others through creativity.

We believe everyone should have the chance to explore their creativity, learn new skills, and feel proud of what they create. Our classes are designed to be supportive, relaxed, and accessible, giving artists the freedom to express themselves in their own way and at their own pace.

We run both in-person and online classes across Auckland, creating opportunities for artists to take part in ways that work best for them. Artists experiment with a wide range of creative styles and materials including painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, and more — with guidance from experienced tutors and encouragement from a supportive community.

For many of our artists, art is about much more than making artwork. It can build confidence, reduce isolation, support wellbeing, and create a sense of purpose and belonging. We’ve seen artists discover new strengths, form lasting friendships, and truly thrive through creativity.

A big part of Art for All is making sure our artists have opportunities to share their work with the wider community. Throughout the year we hold exhibitions and showcase events at galleries, community spaces, and local venues, celebrating the talent and individuality of each artist.

We also support artists to sell their work and related merchandise, helping create opportunities for income, independence, and recognition as practicing artists.

At its heart, Art for All is about creating a space where people feel included, valued, supported, and inspired to create, because art is for everyone.
